History
In early 1990, after several years of spiritual teaching to a growing group of students, Simhananda outlined his mandate to unite the age-old wisdom of the East with the expanding wisdom of the West. In 1993, in order to respond to the need to spread his teachings, he created the Poorna-Jnana Yoga Foundation (PJY).
In 1995, the first PJY Centre was opened. Located on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal, this Centre welcomes many people from various spiritual approaches in search of wellness and guidance.
In 1998, in order to pursue its mission in a natural environment that inspires well-being, the PJY Foundation acquired 156 acres of land in Potton Springs Township, in the heart of the Eastern Townships.
In 2002, in order to accommodate an ever-increasing number of visitors and students, the PJY Foundation moved to a more spacious locale in the heart of downtown Montreal, on René-Lévesque Boulevard.
In 2014, the Poorna-Jnana Yoga Foundation moved to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, in an easily accessible location, in order to welcome a larger public and to offer a program geared towards spiritual wellness in accordance with the teachings of its founder, Simhananda.
Construction of the Potton Springs Meditation and Spiritual Retreat Centre began in 2021. This Centre is an extension of the Poorna-Jnana Yoga Foundation and pursues the same objectives.
The Poorna-Jnana Yoga Foundation is constantly growing. Its projects offer both personal and group spiritual journeys.

About Simhananda

Founder of the Poorna-Jnana Yoga Foundation, Simhananda presents himself as the humble servant of the Masters of the Hierarchy of the Great White Way.
Originally from Ottawa, in Canada, he publishes under different pen names: B. Simhananda, Etbonan Karta, Sri Adi Dadi, Ken N.O. Sho, Dadi Darshan Dharma.
Distinguished Lecturer For more than forty years, Simhananda has brought a fresh, simple and energetic approach – often with a touch of humor – to an approach that many of us take too seriously: authentic spirituality. He recognizes that all paths to God are what they are: necessary and worthwhile. His approach is meant to be integral and universal and brilliantly dismantles all barriers between races, religions and nations.
A man of enigmatic eyes and disarming simplicity, a scholar, a poet, a photographer, a music lover and an art collector, Simhananda has traveled the world and paid homage to all those who, like him, work to help awaken the potential of humankind.
Simhananda now devotes himself entirely to writing. For a list of his books, visit the Paume de Saint-Germain website.
